Plate Thickness: Thickness shall be specified on the drawing in accordance with the part’s requirement. Though no specific recommendations can be made it is suggested that coating thicknesses from 0.00025″ to 0.0002″ well be adequate for normal requirements.

Notes: Treat aluminum parts per "Alstan-70" or "Bondal" process prior to plating. Plated springs and other high carbon or case hardened ferrous parts, subject to flexure or repeated impact must usually be heat treated for hydrogen embrittlement relief. When required the heat treatment shall be specified on the part drawing be reference to the specification number S30784-501. The treatment shall be performed immediately after plating.
