Environmental Stewardship at APT
Today the metal finishing business is one of the most highly regulated industries in the nation. Environmental stewardship is the cultural foundation upon which our day-to-day operations are based. From the very beginning of environmental regulation Advanced Plating Technologies embraced responsibility and today employees one of the most advanced waste treatment systems available. Advanced Plating Technologies continues to lead the industry with RoHS and REACH compliant electroplating services to meet the regulatory needs of our customers.
Advanced Plating Technologies has won nearly every local, state and national environmental award including:
- US EPA Environmental Achievement Award;
- Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District (MMSD) High Honor Roll;
- John C. Brogan Award for Outstanding Environmental Achievement, the highest award given by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources;
- The PEP award (Prevention/Environmental/Prosperity) from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
The president of Advanced Plating Technologies, John Lindstedt, has served on the Government Relations (GR) committee through the National Association of Metal Finishers for over fifteen years. This committee proactively works with our local, state and federal agencies on the development of regulation based on sound science and feasible technology to protect human health and the environment in the metal finishing industry. Currently the GR is involved on key industry issues such as potential nickel metal regulations, chrome PEL and green house gas emissions.
