Powder Coating

Advanced Plating Technologies was one of the preliminary powder coating company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has been providing industrial powder coating services since 1982. Our original powder coating system was installed to apply clear coats over highly cosmetic precious metals deposits which forged a foundation in application and process control. Today APT provides a diverse range of resin systems, textures and colors and specializes in masking and selective powder coating applications. A specific value-add that APT can offer is the turnkey solution of plating and powder coating in a one stop shop. APT excels and specializes in small to mid-size parts with highly aesthetic requirements or demanding selective requirements. Advanced Plating Technologies does not offer services for personal, consumer projects.

Selective Powder Coating

Selective Powder Coating

Selective Powder Coating

Powder coating offers key advantages over competing painting processes such as e-coat or wet spray paint including improved corrosion resistance and durability. However, the thickness of the paint typically ranges between 0.002 to 0.006 inches. As such, various functional surfaces of painted parts must often be masked including sliding wear surfaces, interference fit and threaded features, sealing surfaces and conductive surfaces. APT has an unparalleled background in selective powder coating techniques and is up to the challenge of the most demanding or selective paint requirements. Over 80% of all active PC jobs at APT require some sort of selective coating, with some applications having upwards of thirty masks per part. APT has a dedicated engineering department that can pull from over forty years of selective experience to develop custom masks and a selective process matched to your specific application.
