Advanced Plating Technologies is excited to announce the formal partnership with Milwaukee Lutheran High School. With this partnership, Advanced Plating Technologies (APT) will be giving students within the Career Academy program at Milwaukee Lutheran to experience real-world working experience while still in high school to prepare students for the workforce after graduation. This work/study program is set up to expose students to the multiple sub-sectors of high tech U.S. Manufacturing that APT currently services such as Medical, Oil & Gas, Electronic, Defense, Power Transmission among many others. Since the early stages of the partnership in 2017, there have been a total of four Milwaukee Lutheran students who have held or currently hold internship positions at APT.
The intern positions range company wide: Engineering, Maintenance, Waste Treatment & Analytical and the students are exposed to real world experience in a hands on environment. “The relationship between Advanced Plating Technologies and Milwaukee Lutheran High School has been excellent. The students are hardworking and respectful – qualities that exemplify the atmosphere at MLHS. Advanced Plating Technologies looks forward to growing the program and getting additional students involved as the manufacturing industry continues to demand talented young workers who are eager to learn and work in a fast paced, hands on environment”, said New Business Development Specialist, Scott Benson.
“The career academy is a great program as high schools continue to implement the importance of trades,” said Matt Lindstedt, President. “There is a demand for high quality employees and being in an industry which doesn’t have a traditional or structured apprenticeship program has allowed us to map our own”. APT will continue to provide the training resources and mentoring necessary to make this program sustainable for many years to come.
